This provides Tesla an opportunity to capitalise on the fairly emerging EV market in the country, reported Bloomberg. Notably, Tesla reported its first annual drop in EV sales in more than a decade. The sales of EV cars neared 100,000 units last year in comparison to 11 million units sold in China during the same period. Last week, PM Modi met with Musk and US President Donald Trump in the US. Later, the American President said that PM Modi agreed to start negotiations to address the US trade deficit and push US military purchases. Both leaders said that the countries aim to increase bilateral trade by double to $500 billion by 2030 and also finalise the first phase of a mutually beneficial trade agreement by 2025 end.
