Syed Hammad Meer, Renowned Skeet Shooter representing Delhi in upcoming 38th Nationals Game
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) announced that Uttarakhand will host the National Games 2025 from January 28 to February 14, Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi will inaugurate the event in Dehradun. The National Games is an Olympic Style multi-sport event where 10,000 athletes from the various states of India compete for medals in 32 different sporting disciplines. Delhi Olympic Association and Delhi State Rifle Association have decided to nominate “Syed Hammad Meer” to represent Delhi state for shotgun event, who is a renowned shooter in three different events, 1) Shotgun Skeet, 2) Shotgun Trap, 3) 300.Mtr Big Bore Rifle. Since 2014 He has participated and qualified in several State, National and open international Championship. He has won 4 Gold Medals and 2 Silver medal in state championship and 2 Bronze medal in All India GVM Shooting Championship. In recent 67th National Championship he has secured National rank 2nd in skeet men’s master category and got selected for the selection trials for Indian shooting team. In 2019, he also got selected for the selection trials of Indian Shooting team, unfortunately he couldn’t participate as his parents were hospitalised. Now he will shoot for Delhi in upcoming 38th Nationals Game in Shotgun “Clay Pigeon Skeet” and Mix Team event with the girl partner under the guidance of his coach Mr. Yaseen Sheikh
