Tesla Model Y Could Cost Around Rs 60 Lakh In India
Tesla has started testing its Model Y in India and in terms of pricing, this luxury electric SUV could cost up to Rs 60 lakh in India- similar to the BYD Sealion 7 which is its direct rival. The new Model Y is the latest all new Tesla and will most probably be the first model in India from them. The Model Y globally is their best seller and this updated version can be called as all new since it has had a comprehensive update with new looks, more range and better interiors. We can expect the long range all wheel drive to come here with a range of more than 500km with 19-inch wheels. The AWD Long Range is also very quick with a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 4.3 seconds. The wheels, suspension and tyres have also been tweaked from the earlier Model Y. It also looks different with a single strip light when compared to the earlier Model Y. Inside, you even have a touchscreen for the rear passengers and a 15.4-inch one for the front passenger and driver. Of course, being Tesla a lot of features have been added in. The Model Y could start from 50 but also could cost upto Rs 60 lakh given we expect the fully loaded versions to come to India. At that price, the car would be competing with rivals like the BMW iX1, BYD Sealion and others. This is of course without the large import duties but more clarity would be seen soon on that while we think Tesla would be competitively pricing their cars in India even though they won't be locally produced.
