Toyota bZ4X EV Gets Many Changes But Will India Get It?

The edgy bZ4X EV from Toyota gets a new update with more power and features. This large EV is a premium model from Toyota and comes with 337 horsepower with dual motors bringing AWD into the mix. There is a less powerful single motor as well which also gets more power. Compared to the earlier version, there has been an improvement now in the performance thanks to these changes.   Even the battery packs are new and more efficient with a 51.9 kWh version and a larger battery pack with a 65.8-kWh capacity. The exterior changes are also there to make it edgier while moving it to closer to the new design language as also seen with new Camry facelift which was launched in India sometime back.     The lines are quite futuristic and if launched this would be a premium EV aimed at the entry luxury space where Lexus is in India with its more affordable models to some extent. The interiors are also new with a larger touchscreen as well. Being the flagship EV of sorts, the bZ4X has a different look while it is near 4.7m which means it is quite larger in size. In India, Toyota does not have any premium hybrid or electrified SUV models and does not sell an EV too.     While it has the hugely expensive Vellfire, the bZ4X could be an interesting choice for the first premium EV for India although Toyita will instead bring its own version of the Maruti e Vitara instead which would be cheaper.
